One of the most popular things on my website is my program for extracting JPG files from MPO files. I originally wrote it when I heard about the release of Fuji&#8217;s first 3D digital camera &#8211; more as a programming exercise than anything else. I just bashed it out without too much thought, and no optimisation, assuming that there were probably other, better, programs out there.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"https:\/\/paulplowman.com\/stuff\/wp-content\/mpotojpg.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/paulplowman.com\/stuff\/wp-content\/mpotojpg-300x230.gif\" alt=\"Screenshot of the program\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-71\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\"><\/a>Anyway, lots of people have downloaded my program, and someone even emailed me to tell me it was easier to use than Fuji&#8217;s own version! People emailed me to suggest several improvements too, so I&#8217;ve finally got round to releasing version v0.2!!<\/p>\n<p>So, this version will now work with MPO files which contain more than two images. Apparently these are a thing. If there are two images, it labels them left and right, but if there are more than two, it just numbers them sequentially.<\/p>\n<p>Also, I&#8217;ve optimised the code a bit, so it now runs between two to three times faster, depending on the file.<\/p>\n<p>There are some other minor improvements too.<\/p>\n<p>Get it from the <a href=\"https:\/\/paulplowman.com\/software\/mpotojpg.htm\">MPO to JPG<\/a> page!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s funny what interests people on the internet.
